I just came across your post by accident and feel compelled to drop you a line—which may become a lifeline from time to time. I am a writer, and have done many other different things in my long adult life, most of it with MS. I have lived with MS for 45 years, advocated for MS in multiple ways for 40 years, and wrote two books about it. Reach out if you’d like Deborah Petrina | Substack
Please do. I'm very happy to listen, talk, and help. When I started out with my own MS journey in the 1980's, it was the dark ages and practically no information available. Nowadays, there is such an overwhelming amount of information (a lot misleading), it's just as difficult to know what to do.
fortunately for us the Rem blog archive is DEEP and GOLDEN. i randomly found myself on grantland via wayback machine in the middle of a research project just the other day :) lots of love rem. x
Rem, thank you for sharing this, and please forgive me for joining the long line of folk saying “I’m so sorry.” I had two loved ones go through autoimmune diagnoses/scares last year, and I wish you nothing but strength and positivity moving forward!
You may not remember me, but we met in 2019 when you appeared in my doc Blackballed (the other Sterling project that went on Quibi). You and Wesley provided the most meaningful and entertaining reflections in that entire project. I am truly grateful to you guys, and to Scott for putting us in touch.
Your voice has been a real treasure to follow the past 15 years, I can’t wait to read your book! Be well man, and congratulations on the impending addition to your family.
Life is a winding road and there’s nothing like rehabbing something that used to work to force you to restructure. Thanks for the amazing work and looking forward to your next chapter.
Of all the adversaries we may face in our life chronic disease may be the worst, but you are dealing with it better than I would, and I wish you all the luck and health in the world. 🙏⛩
Loved your work since I first read you on Grantland. I still go back and read the Bar Mitzva Niki Minaj peice when I need a pick me up. Can’t wait for your book.
Congratulations on the recent great news and good luck with your recovery work. Thank you for your excellent writing over the years, can’t wait for the book.
