Tennis Magazine in the 90s was fire. The covers were incredible and Pete Sampras was routinely an editor.
One of the features that emerged in the 90s (and may not have gone past the 90s) was called StrataGems. I loved Stratagems. My coach, Coach Wink, collected his favorite and made photocopies and gave them to his most prized pupils. And before matches, I’d try to take a few to memory, to help me in tough times.
StrataGems weren’t in every issue, and not all of them made their way online. But I am hoping to collect every issue of Tennis from my golden years (95-02), and in turn have all the StrateGems. And then sharing all the Stratagems, so we can all be better at tennis and not pickleball.
